Starbase Brewing to Launch First Two Payloads to Space on NASA’s Crew-11 Mission
Starbase Brewing, the craft brewery with a bold vision to become the first beer on Mars, is thrilled to announce the launch of its first two scientific payloads to space aboard NASA’s Crew-11 mission, currently scheduled for July 31, 2025. Manifested through the Center for the Advancement of Science in Space (CASIS) program at the International Space Station National Laboratory (ISSNL), these payloads mark a significant milestone in the company’s mission to pioneer extraterrestrial brewing and lay the foundation for Martian agriculture.

In partnership with Dr. Luis Zea of Jaguar Space, Starbase Brewing is driving groundbreaking research that will advance scientific understanding and support the brewery’s long-term goal of sustainable brewing on Mars. The payloads, which include contributions from soon-to-be-announced university research partners, are poised to generate critical data for developing agricultural and fermentation processes in space environments.
“We are beyond excited to see our vision take flight with NASA’s Crew-11 mission,” said Nate Argroves, CEO at Starbase Brewing. “These experiments are a vital step toward brewing the first beer on Mars and establishing sustainable agriculture for future Martian communities. We’re honored to collaborate with Dr. Zea and our research partners to push the boundaries of science and innovation.”
While specific details about the experiments remain under wraps, Starbase Brewing will be sharing more about these pioneering projects in the coming weeks. The outcomes of these experiments are expected to provide valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities of sustaining life beyond Earth.
